Hi all I am new to reporting these issues so please forgive me if I miss any thing out

this particular crash happened when playing sniper elite 3 on campaign...

not long ago I bought a 780ti graphics card and installed it with no problems tried a few game to check ie arma 3 etc and had no problems

I am running win7 home premium
A58MD motherboard
AMD A8-5600 apu prcessor
780ti graphics card
8GB of ram (single stick)

all driver say they are up to date

I have added a a zip file which I did with Dm log collector? which I believe contains a dump file in question...

I am interested in this sort of thing and would like to learn more so any help would be much appreciated

many thanks

chris

Hi Chris, welcome to 7F. I've had a look at your dump and I'll see if I can help you sort the problem out.

Your single dump is 0x7F (KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR), basically this means the kernel is having trouble moving data from the Pagefile on the hard drive back into physical memory (the RAM). There can be a few reasons for this, but going on what's showing in the dump we'll look at your hard drive first of all. It is an HDD and not an SSD isn't it?
Code:
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff6fc400097f0, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000000e, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 00000000ab9f4860, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: fffff880012fe780, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

Debugging Details:
------------------

ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc000000e - [COLOR=Red]A device which does not exist was specified.[/COLOR]

DISK_HARDWARE_ERROR: [COLOR=Red]There was error with disk hardware[/COLOR]

:ar: Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD (do not run on an SSD). http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/313457-seatools-dos-windows-how-use.html

:ar: Run chkdsk. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

:ar: Open an elevated command prompt and type or copy and paste sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Complete these steps and report back with the results, we'll go from there.

After a bit of clarification from another member of our BSOD team (I'm no expert on SeaTools results) it's safe to say your hard drive is most likely the issue. If it's starting to deteriorate, quite rapidly so it seems, it will be best to back up all of the data you need and replace the drive.

Definitely. Use the SSD for your OS and most frequently used programs and use an HDD for storage and other stuff.
