Is a 200W PSU enough for this pc?

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI R1.0 OR Asus H81I-Plus
CPU: Intel Pentium G3420 OR G3320
RAM: CORSAIR 1333 MHz DDR3 XMS3 4GB 2x2GB CL9
CD/DVD writer/reader
SATA HDD 500GB 3,5" 7200rpm

NO dedicated graphics card

It would start and run with a 200 watt psu, you should be OK if it's a bare bones system. If you started adding lots of peripherals you may start having problems.

I recall upgrading one of my early boxes, from a 100 watt to a 200 watt psu. Nowadays it's upgrading a 800 watt to a 1200 watt.

It´s a simple mini-itx build, it will work with a 1080p multi-touch monitor @Windows 8.

Just remember that the PSU is the rigs heart. If there was a area that I've learned and many here have learned the hard way don't......Don't cheap out on the PSU. Output and quality matter here and just like an audio amplifier you can't have too much headroom for those dynamic peaks. Really how much more will 350-400 cost? as long as it will fit get a good brand and rest assured any issues likely won't be the PSU's fault.

id say 300-350 and maybe a better mobo and i3 or i5 CPU

I run your specs through a PSU calculator, http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
It doesn't show either CPU so I put in a low power i5.
I shows minimum PSU of 192W, recommended, 242W. 200W may only be "adequate".

In time you may want to add a GPU and then you would need more than a 200W PSU.

i3 or i5 CPUs are a waste for basilar operations, aren´t them?

No need for a dedicated GPU I only need to run metro app and watch HD videos

I see that the G3420 has a tdp of 53 watts, so unless you add a graphics card you should be ok . The ram uses very little, and onboard graphics don't use much. Lets hope that the psu is a reasonable make like FSP. If you google the case name you may get some feedback on the installed psu.

I think 200W is too small for you. If it is a case/PSU combo I'd pick a decent brand - I've found Thermaltake ok. A cheap 200W PSU could spell disaster down the track. A fried system is also all about money.

The test is easy - if the house burns down, it was not enough. Never skimp on a PSU.

Not off the top of my head. It depends on what is available in your location. Your signature indicates you know the good brands. Just a word of warning about small cases - they can overheat particularly if you are in a warm climate without air conditioning. I had an old ACER Aspire desktop which had a small case and ~200W PSU. It used to overheat badly. I recased it for $73 with 450W PSU and it's still running strong and cool even on the hottest days.

I'm building a mini-ITX as we discuss your PSU but I'm going for a much different rig, my BitFenix.com case could interest you except I don't know your budget plus better cases rarely come with a quality PSU if offered as a combo one or the other or both are normally sacrificed.

I'm building a mini-ITX as we discuss your PSU but I'm going for a much different rig, my BitFenix.com case could interest you except I don't know your budget plus better cases rarely come with a quality PSU if offered as a combo one or the other or both are normally sacrificed.

I need a cheap combo. I don´t care about good brands (I used Premier and Nilox PSUs and they never had problems with my C2Q Q9300 and my GeForce GTS 450/GTX 460)

What stores are available to you in Italy it seems you may have the best line on where to shop. Just get a cheap combo with a PSU above 250-300 and you could be right as rain. For me I might skip the combo and just shop the best of both that you can afford.
