I feel sorry for the Dutch. Some of the pundits where saying they played bad and had bad tactics. I really don't think that's fair at all. Okay so they had some rough challenges, but I don't think they where on purpose, think it was more a case of being over enthusiastic and trying a bit hard.

As for bad tactics, no way. There is only one way to handle Spain and that's to stifle their passing and that's exactly what the Netherlands did. They're the only team in this world cup who managed to do it and if you consider the difference in overall quality between the two teams I say fair play to them.

I'd say overall the Dutch were the better side. Possession was like 55% 45% in favour of the Spanish which again, given the difference in the two sides says more about the Dutch than it does the Spanish.

And to rap it up I've got to say, watching the Spanish does nothing for me. I can appreciate how skilled they are and their passing is damn fine, but after about ten minutes it bores me, all they try and do is walk the ball to the net and usually win with like 1 goal. I much prefer the sort of game the Germans play, full of energy and lots of goals. So I enjoyed last nights game purely because the Dutch stopped the Spanish doing their usual of just teasing the ball up the park and in to the net.

Hey soccer fans.

Well, I guess congrats are in order to Spain, although to me it seemed like right from the get-go the game was a blend of sloppiness/roughness, although I thought it got a little bit better toward the end when they realized somebody had to do something or else it would have gone to penalties.

But most of all, I just love it when these guys argue with the referee. "Huh? What? Me? I didn't do anything! I'm innocent!" And the ref is just supposed to bend to the will of the players. Spectacular drama!

Of course, I do realize that not every call is going to be 100% fair.

I think the right team got the cup. The Dutch were dirtier than the Spanish team and throughout I think the Spaniards played better.
