Solved 2120 or 3570k Gaming

which of these is better in terms of gaming, surfing the web and skype.

i know the 2120 has hyperthreading but less cores (2/4) but the 3570k has more cores but no hyper threading. but still has 4 threads(4/4) which one is better

The "K" models are capable over overclocking. Depending on budget go for the 3570k. I have a 3550, great for all my games and apps.

Physical cores will always yield better performance than hyper-threading. However, it will depend on the app/gme to determine how many cores it can use and access.

In short, it depends, and many games may even be more dependent on your video card than either of those two processors.

Most newer games, like Black Ops, offers considerably better gaming performance with quad-core than dual-core CPUs.
