2nd HD Keeps Disappearing!

The secondary hard drive in my Win 7, 64-bit system keeps disappearing from explorer! It is usually there on boot-up, but then disappears sometime thereafter. I thought that the drive was starting to fail, so I replaced the drive with a new one, and transferred all my data. But the same thing is happening with the new drive! Is this a motherboard issue or what?

Have you plugged the HD into different SATA ports?

It's my ASUS laptop. There is no other SATA port...
