My guess would be you're using onboard video and the GPU is sapping into your physical memory to operate... ;)

Isnt that only a 32-bit problem?

Nah, but seeing 3.25Gb of RAM, when there is physically more installed, is an x86 problem, for sure... :)

Check for BIOS updates, if your motherboard has onboard graphics which are not in use then take any possible measures to disable this in the BIOS, ensure your board manufacturer says your hardware is designed to support Windows7...

We have precious little information to go on from you, so you won't get a definitive solution without a more precise set of details regards what's causing the issue :)

ok my computer is a acer am1201 amd athalon 64 x2 dual core 5000+ 2.6ghz
mobo is model # RS740DVF
chipset ati RS690/RS690M
southbridge ati SB700

BIOS
brand AMI
version R03-B1

my board can supportup tp 8gb of ram and it is 64 bit capeable before i doubled the ram and it runs beautiful start up time is 54 sec games run beautiful n smooth and i dont that i am lacking because of it but it is still just annoying cause thats why i bought windows 7 is cause of the 64bit capability but it is performing like 32bit in that manor but it is rating my vid vard as 6.9 now instead of vistas 5.2 rating total cpu rating is 5.6 everything being 5.9 but processor is 5.6 and video is 6.9 an my video card is gts 250 oc 1gbddr3

i also just looked up on the acer site that there is bios updates 2 of them but neither works properly do you know where i have to put them? i ran them both the older 1 then newer 1 and no change in the bios
