i have a quad core amd on a gigabyte mobo with 4 gb ram running windows 7 64 bit. i had a 1 tb hd and got a hard disk error with a warning to backup my files or ignore the error. i ignored the error and then it crashed after a month or so. i figured it was a bad hd. so i bought another 1 tb hd and same thing happened after 1-2 months, i was like what happened. so i bought another 1.5 tb hd drive and again the same thing happened after 1-2 months. Now i know for a fact that something is wrong with my system and its causing my hd's to crash. so i replaced my power supply with a really good antec highly rated on newegg that has plenty of power at 650 watts. so the 3 hd's that crashed kinda still work if i format them, but again the error keeps happening. is something wrong with my mobo? any suggestions? please help im losing my mind here.
Could be a bad SATA cable or the onboard SATA port(s).
change the SATA cable and use a different port if you can.
what brand drives did you buy and do you have another computer you can put them into to see if they experience the same error.
For one thing, check your drive health. Search for "Active Hard Disk Monitor" which is a free utility. It will report your drive health and operating temperature. Hopefully, you are not running hot. I know that the cooling in my tower is such that one drive runs about 5 degrees higher than the others even with plenty of air circulation.

will change sata cable and sata port. also i have 2 western digitals hd and 1 seagate. they brand new. i will download and install active hard disk manager. i already sent 1 hd back with warranty for replacemet. luckily all my hd and mobo are under warranty. thanks for the replies!!! any more suggestions are appreciated.
I think it may have been the sata cable or port. things seem faster and smoother in new cable and port. holy smokes i hope that was it. getting mobo RMA asap.
yeah bro you will crash and blue screen eventually. also it really messes up the hd's. it can make them unusable. fix it asap. i changed sata cable and sata ports with a good response so far.
UPDATE: i got that error again, wondering if the hard drive is messed up beyond repair or if its the mobo. o well sending them all back for replacement. thanks guys.
