4 R.A.M. questions + 1 Hard Drive question

First question is when I play the game Battlefield 3, I get around a jumpy 18-24 FPS, graphics card is GT 610 2 GB VRAM by Palit, I tested this on another computer from a friend, it has an i5 (what I can remember and don't know the clock speed and number of cores), Windows 7 64-bit (don't know the version but is has the Aero scheme), 4 GB of RAM and a GT 430, I said to my self, how can a 430 is better than a 610? I can play BF3 with auto settings at 1366x768 if I can remember and it doesn't lag, even in extensive scenes. Maybe because it's bottle neck? RAM or CPU?

Second question which may help the above one, I bought a new RAM from Kingston, it's a 2GB DDR3-10600 CL9 240-Pin DIMM, it fits in the slots of my PC, I can here it tabs clicking which means it's locked, but when I turn the PC on, it gives me a long and a short beep, I did a CMOS reset but beeping still continues, I removed the new one and left the stock one, it works, I removed the stock one and placed the new one, it gives me those beeping sounds, whatever I do try to fit it in, it doesn't work. I returned to my stock one and it's fine, any reason why?

Third question, the sticker on my RAM stick tells me that it's a DDR-3 PC3-10600, when I go to the BIOS, it tells me that it's a PC3-8500, CPU-Z tells me it's a PC3-10700, I don't know what to trust, the sticker, BIOS or CPU-Z?

Fourth question, can I combine my stock one and the new one if it fits? According to a PC repair shop, it says, it's compatible, I just wanted to be sure

Hard drives and metal detectors and X-ray scanners, will detectors/scanners cause any damage to my drive? I'm going to my province next week, gonna use an airplane. If it will cause any damage? I'll just leave the drive in my place.

I can only help with the RAM maybe. It sounds like you don't have a matched set so it will all run at the lowest, slowest specs of the slowest RAM stick installed. You may have it in the wrong slots to get full performance with it too. Check your motherboard manual where to install 2 sticks, if you are using 3 sticks that can cause issues too because the system will try to map the 3rd stick as another channel.

The manual should also list the beep coded and what they mean, there is no standard for them, each BIOS and manufacturer is different.

The x-ray scanners at airports will not harm laptops or storage media, including CDs and DVDs. This form of energy will not interact with magnetic media.

Magnets and strong electro-magnetic fields are the enemy of computer storage. So you do not want to pass your laptop through a metal-detector.

For the video card question, you're comparing apples to oranges. The GT 430 was a low-mid range card when it came out. The GT 610 despite being two generations newer than the GT439, is the lowest of the low end for Nvidia cards, and sorry to say quite a bit slower than the older GT430.

For the ram, try the new stick in the slot the original is in by itself. If the computer works boots, then try the original stick in the other slot, again by itself and see if the computer will boot. If it doesn't boot with the original stick in the second slot, then it is likely a bad slot and not bad ram.

I just also realized my PC is using a single channel RAM, I presumed that the person on the counter is an expert, I just showed my stock RAM to her and she just did the job on finding it, anyone knows what channel is my RAM?

It sounds to me you are not installing your ram in the proper slots or the wrong ram. Please check your motherboard manual and install the ram as it describes and that way only.

The name of the RAM is KVR1333D3S8N9/2G, can support dual channel which my MoBo does, 240 pin like the MoBo said, it's 2 GB like the MoBo said too, more info here about my RAM.:

Both slots are the same, my stock RAM can work in any of the 2 slots, so the new one must work too. Anyways if it's the wrong RAM, it would be fine, I still have the receipt of the transaction. Other questions too, what's the real maximum usable RAM of W7 32-bit? Other says 3.25GB, others 3.72GB others says 4GB, what's the truth? Because I might by a 2x2 GB(I prefer this one but a single 4 GB is cheaper than a 2x2 GB for some reason) or a 1x4 GB RAM.

32 bit can only map 4|Gb in total, which means the mapping for your graphics,Mobo cache and even HD has to be allocated first, typically the amount left for system usage is at best 3.2 Gb if you have a 1Gb card you are down to 3 Gb immediately.
Only improvement is using 64 bit system.

To have dual channel enabled at least two slots need to be used, four will also work. Three slots may have the third RAM stick operated as single channel.

The difference with a 32 bit system is due to the hardware installed. some graphics chips will use more RAM.

PC3-10600 and 1333 MHz are same memory, you should go back to the store, return the memory you bought and get a matching set of PC3-10600 , 1333 MHz memory and install it.

My computer was manufactured in '09, my father and mother bought it for me in '11 (because of high grades ), it's an old PC, it costed around 632 US$ at the time I bought it, I just realized that amount of money, I can build a gaming rig. Yeah, they still make 250w PSU's at those times. PC getting outdated, when I build a new one or buy a better one, I might give this to a cousin mine that's a geek too in computers. I'm planning a build on a budget of 500~600 US$. Still catching up in the new world and hoping that I can catch up.

For some reason, my reply disappeared, never thought of an OC'd version, I know little about assembling a PC, especially cable management, I don't want my PC to go up in smokes cause of wrong connections, how much do you think if I give the parts to a shop and let them assemble it? Also, forgot the cooling, any cheap and good fans?
