3D camera and monitor

Do I need a special Computer Monitor to show 3D pictures because I'm thinking about buying a 3D camera?

I would think you do since a regular monitor only shows in 2 dimensions. Don't get me wrong you could still see the pictures but it wouldn't have that special effect that your looking for like on the back of the 3D camera.
