I started getting the blue screen about a week ago and it has happened twice now in as many days.
I attach the dump files as a zip file.
Thanks!
Veronica

Hi Vsellar and welcome

these were all caused by your Maxtor one touch driver (mxopswd.sys). I would remove it to test and re-install only if absolutely needed. If you realy need it (I can only guess why) I would get the newest copy directly from Maxtor and install it.

Let us know if you need assistance

Vsellar

You may be able to get it to work in win 7 if you get the newest driver and if no win 7 driver is available you can use the vista driver by installing it in compatibility mode.

To install an older driver in compatibility mode you need to right click the install, go to properties, then compatibility. Pick the correct operating system and try it.

If you still get Blue screens then you can un-install it.

There should be Maxtor something listed under Programs and Features.

Also, go to start menu, all programs, and find Maxtor folder there. Then use the uninstall shortcut.
If it is not there, go to C:\program files\Maxtor and look there.

Hi Veronica again,

I gather your current problem is not unique.

I would suggest you visit the manufacturers website >Seagate / Maxtor > Community Forums > Knowledge base & also Trouble shooting.
See what information / help they list re -uninstalling mxopswd-sys driver.

Good luck.
Let us know how you go please.

These two latest were caused by two separate things. They both point to win 7 files. While this is typically not probable we still want to get you moving towards a resolution.

To that end can you

1-run a system file check-- to verify and repair your win 7 system files
(type cmd in search>right click and run admin>SFC /SCANNOW)
Let us know the results on this as you may have to run more than once.

2-Download a 3rd party application called memtestx86, burn it to a cd, and run it for at least 6 passes to test your ram.

Comment: Several references were made to an input-output problem. This might include your CD/DVD drive as indicated in one of the crashes.
We will investigate if needed.

let us know if you need any further assistance.
