There’s some good news for Firefox fans, as Mozilla seems to have finally decided on officially launching a 64-bit version of its browser.

Mozilla has finally reached the conclusion that a non- x86 version of its popular browser is a good way to go. Citing the growing marketshare of x64 OS versions and the fact that both IE and Chrome now offer 64-bit versions, Mozilla will now focus on offering a similar version of Firefox.

As long as Mozilla codes it correctly.

Remember how IE9 (32 bit) outperformed IE9 (64 bit)?
IIRC, that was because MS only used its improved browser engine in the 32 bit version.

My only concern is legacy gear [that bit in the article about M$ dropping x86] though for HTPCs since I nLited a legal XP
licence and firewall all but time correcting and TV listings, I guess I can work around it. Maybe learn to vLite Seven or Eight, which I haven't tried yet. Since most people use them to integrate hotfixes and security, I use them to see how much I can strip out and still have a viable OS to support the main application (in my case the utility for the MDP-130 and driver for the remote) though I hope the x86 line continues.
For with PAE enabled, I can make x86 do anything that 64-bit does.
