64 bit support for 32 bit applications

I'm heavily using Visual Studio 2010 (development environment for develop applications) all the day. To speed up my computer a little bit, I have added into my computer 8 gigabyte of RAM. My processor is a standard quad core. So my computer should be powerful enough to handle my requirements. Unfortunately, this isn't so. From time to time Visual Studio hangs, although my hardware should be good enough.

A possible reason for this could be the limitation for 32 bit applications. Visual Studio 2010 does not support out of the box a 64 bit compilation, so it is basically a 32 bit application.

Is it possible to patch a 32 bit application (in my case VS 2010) to gain the same results as for a 64 bit compiled application?

Actually application hangs are generally and indication that a system service is not performing properly or locking up.
It's very unlikely that it's a shortcoming in the system itself. Given what you are saying here.

it will give us a copy of your system error log and basic hardware information. Hopefully this can be used to route out the hanging app/service and help you reduce or eliminate the problem. (I realize you haven't been having blue screens, that method is just the easiest way to get a copy of the error logs.)

The system health reports looks okay. The hardware requirements for VS 2010 are also good enough. VS 2010 hangs because I use it too heavily. That should cause the performance issue. As far as I can see, it isn't a hardware issue. It should be the limitation for 32 bit applications. The way to crack the 32 bit limitation should the best way. And this is what I'm looking for. Is this technically possible?

What you have is not a limitation of 32 bit. What you have is starving I/O.
