Hi

I reffered to many post but nothing helpful.

Im not getting 300MBPS Speed,

Im using ASUS N43S Model with Qualcomm atheros ar9002wb-1ng wireless network

OS in Win7 Home Premium

Pls refer the screenshot, As you see the speed is only 65MBPS

How to make it 300 ?

You can see in Wireless Mode Section there is only 2 options, There is no N

So 1 doubt is my card is supportive for N (300MBPS ) if yes then what should I do it to make it possible ?
Even the drivers are updated ( As per Atheros.cz site )

pls help. Thanks

Note : My old laptop some fujitsu model is able to achieve 300MBPS
where my new i7 is struggling :(

Hi Fr3ndZ,

If you run a speedtest on your new laptop and old laptop are you getting different speeds?
I think even on N you will still struggle to get above 50 meg wirelessly.

Paul.

Paul Thats the Problem... They both show completely different speed

Old Laptop where Wifi Speed is 300 MBPS , Therefore Speedtest output is around 98 to sometimes 102 MBPS

In new laptop the speed is 65mbps... This goes only till 48-50MBPS

According to atheros max throughput is 150 megabits per second for this card. This chip appears to only utilize 2 antennas as well so that may contribute to the poor signal quality. If you are right by the router what is your speed?

I have two 4GB Corsair XMS3 modules and two 2GB Corsair XMS3 modules.
Thanks Tommy for replying,

Well I kept my laptop just below the router and still 65 is intact, Screenshot for reference only ( Distance between Router & Laptop) Pretty poor quality pic :(

Anymore help ? whatelse can be done ?

I feel the option N is missing , because G is 54mbps and B is 65mbps, the option N should comes so atleast I get 160MBPS and depends on distance it may go till 300

Hello Fr3ndZ,
I have done a quick search for "Asus N43S" on the Asus website, and nothing exists. On a Google search, it tries to search for "N43SL" (N43SL - Notebooks & Ultrabooks - ASUS).

You also haven't specified whether you are using 64 bit or 32 bit Windows.
It is also usually not a good idea to get software from an unofficial website.

Here are the drivers for that model from the Asus website:
64 bit (Go to the 'Wireless' option, which will expand when clicked. Choose the first driver and click "Global" to download)

32 bit (Same as above, but second driver down, with 2.04 MB)

Of course, you may have a different model, but like I said you haven't told us much and your system specs do not give a lot away :)

You can try changing the settings for the AdHoc11n and WepTKIP 11n (1st Screen print in post#1) to see if either of those changes makes a difference.
If AdHoc11n is disabled now, you could try enabling it and setting up an ad hoc network to see if that gets you "n" connectivity.

Also, you can insert screen prints directly in SF posts, so there is no need to link to another site...

Did you try with AdHoc11 n disabled?
I was just guessing it might be a "bug" that is affected by this setting...

Bummer :(
I've got a little USB wireless adapter and it gets "b/g/n"...
Do you know anyone with a USB wireless "n" adapter you could borrow to test with?
They are pretty cheap, $20 USD or less.
I don't think you should have to use a different adapter, but if it comes down to it, maybe something to consider...

Thanks for letting me know about SF direct upload, its better and easy to upload in SF rather than any photo upload sites.

Meantime wireless USB well I would skip it, for now with 65MBPS, Im still manage to get 48-50MBPS speed and practically download speed of 4 to 5Mb/ sec. Which is still good.

Thanks for your time & suggestion... Cheers

You're welcome.
Maybe a Network expert will see this thread and have better advice and suggestions.

If it's a new laptop, have you asked ASUS support about this?
I would...:geek:

I don't think I could afford paying for the speeds you get.:o
NICE speed either way! I'm jealous :p
