What drove me nuts when I started with W7 was the snap and windows jumping around. I disabled that. But the things I like about TaskBar are pinning and Progressbar Buttons. It's very cool to see progress in the TaskBar Button. No need to worry if the progress window of the application gets covered over. They kept that in W8. It just doesn't look as good as on W7.
Not sure what pinning is but the Progress bar buttons are cool.
However a few things I absolutely abhor on win7 are:
1) The taskbar doesn't show the number of windows/folders opened anymore. I browse with a lot of windows opened and I like to know the number.
2) They (windows) are ordered the exact opposite way as xp (asc/desc) with the newest window opened at the bottom of the column instead of the top.
3) And the scroll down through said column seems about 3 times as slow as it was on xp.
4) The taskbar grouping. On xp it was by individual program, with it becoming grouped in a column after (iirc) 5 windows opened whereas on windows 7 it seems like it's global, where if I don't have a lot of programs running I can have 7 or more windows opened from one program and it still doesn't column-group them yet.
5) And the thing I absolutely hate worse than anything else is that (on an opened folder) I can't drag and move things around inside it anymore. And if I say extract something from a rar it immediately goes into the sort order instantly (asc., desc., date, size, etc,,,) instead of the bottom of the folder like xp. Cannot state strongly enough how much I hate this.
