I've been using Windows Media Center on Windows 7 64-bit for years now. I have a cable card. It has bothered me, more on some TV programs than others. When playing video through 7MC, I'll get some ghosting/pixelization when the action heats up, or the camera moves very quickly.

However when I play one of these .wtv files with Daum's Pot Player, this does not happen. But, it is not nearly as convenient. Help me repair my 7MC.

I checked into reformatting the .wtv files into other formats and compressing on an automatic basis. But the issue there for me, that I could not find one that preserved the multi-channel audio. I realize that is not important to most people, but I treasure that TV and movies are still made in 5.1 or better.

I would suspect that your graphics card cannot keep up with the action.

Well explain how that answer makes sense? Since this doesn't happen, as already explained, when playing the same TV shows with another player on the same machine. Or Blu-ray.

Different programs have different system requirements and put a different load on the system. The WMC is a pretty fancy player and I could imagine that it need more muscle than a 'plain' player.

Hmm. Ok, I can buy that. When I get back home I'll report my graphics card. I have considered upgrading from time to time. But not for this reason.

Another thought: I never run WMC in it's intended 'Full-Screen' view with the 'locked' mouse. One huge gripe about 7-MC is that they have never updated for a multi-monitor setup. It will lock the mouse, as if that is all your doing with the computer. So I use a software called 'The Maxifier'. But in order to run it, I turn off part of 'Windows Aero' functions in order for it to work properly. So perhaps it still doesn't work properly, and I never figured that out. Oh well perhaps, WMC isn't the software I should be using to play my WMC recorded video at all. I just need to retrain the household with something else.
