Hello all,

My ex - boyfriend wants to get back together with me. Since I do not want to get back together since he did a terrible thing and dumped me on my birthday I am thinking of turning him down by telling him I am already seeing someone so that he would not feel bad about this situation.

Is this a good way, or I should just tell him the truth?

Just politely tell him you are not interested. No need to get ugly unless he doesn't understand the word "no". Telling a lie has a way of coming back and biting you from behind.

as a man who has experienced the old dumping situation a few times myself, i'd seriously consider not getting back with him, the fact of the matter is, if he's done it once, he'll do it again, and having got back with an ex once before, it's never going to be the same, you don't feel as connected as you once did, and it will just feel hollow.

Tell him the truth... that you don't wanna be with him anymore coz he did terrible thing... but by telling him the truth he'll try to convince with all the stories like it was a mistake and i did terrible thing i regret im so sorry babe plz give me one more chance and all those stories that'll puzzle you for a while like most of the times happen to a lot of people... so i guess you should just mix it up i mean truth + lie for a massive tackle yeah you're seeing somebody and a bit more fake story if u know what i mean and the rest is upto u missy.... may help you imo

I am in agreement with everyone else. Just tell him that you are over him and do not wish to re-kindle your romance. If he doesn't get it tell him to listen to the Taylor Swift song 'We are never getting back together'. He will soon get the message. Good luck.

Blocking him and ignoring his emails are not a good idea. It a good idea to be aware of what he says in case he makes any threats against you. Just look at the emails but do not ever reply. If he does threaten you or threatens to harm himself, forward the email to the authorities. If his present persistence graduates to calling you or seeing you in person, you may have to get a restraining order against him.
