Solved A good mouse is hard to catch.

I got one mouse installed to work in the default settings. I did a Windows 7 update and install the Windows 7 update for the Logitech mouse.

I'm unable to get the Logitech Set Point 64bit .exe to do any thing after waiting about 5min it will not open so I can install it.

What the hell I'm I doing wrong??

Did you uninstall the Microsoft mouse and keyboard center before loading the mouse software for the new mouse ?

Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center is gone on both computers.
Set point installed and both mice are working as they should to suite me.


So far I like the mice. They work quite well but are a lot more sensitive than the M/S mouse.
It will just take a couple of days to get use to them.
It took me about a week after switching from a M/S keyboard to a Das keyboard to get use to the way the keys work.

Which Logitech mouse did you end up with Layback Bear?.

I have been using Trackball mice for years as I hate dragging the old type mouse around to move the pointer. They say that once you have got used to a Trackball mouse you will never go back & I agree 100% with that.

Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 review - Engadget

I got a used m705. I like it ok, but it is smaller than the Performance MX. While the latter has the annoying zoom button that intrudes into my thumb space, I still like it better than the m705. Maybe just because of size (I'm 6'2" and wear a 17 -38" shirt and XL gloves don't fit me).

I also purchased an MX anywhere mouse. It's elegant and compact, but I prefer the M705. So I'm going to stick with the Performance MX for everyday, but I think I'll put the M705 in my bag for my travel mouse. Which means my MX Anywhere will go on eBay soon.

Just a little update.

I'm well satisfied with my two M705. They both are still working great and the little button behind the wheel is very handy. The little button on the bottom that turns off the batteries is also a nice touch. Now I got 50 batteries I don't know what I'm going to do with.

My previous worries about Logitech products is gone. These two mice do exactly as advertised sense April.

I'm using 2 Microsoft Wireless 5000 mouse and one has a button going a little crazy.

On you two system I like to have matching keyboards and mice.

So I went looking just to buy another M/S 5000. I found out I could buy the combination mouse and keyboard for less than just buying the M/S 5000 by itself.

Not good. I already have to matching M/S keyboards I have replace with Das 4 Pro keyboards. I don't need 3 matching keyboards I don't use.

So I went mouse hunting. What a job. Their has got to be a hundred thousand different ones.
It must be wireless and I don't want one with 36 buttons for gaming and mowing your lawn.

Now we are down to about ten thousand to choose from.
Lots of Logitech which I had bad luck many years ago. That is the reason I use M/S.

Well I found that if you want a mouse for every day use with only the few extra button like I want the choice is Logitech.

I bit my lip and ordered two of these from my local Intel dealer. Should be at my house tomorrow.

If their is any tricks I should know about a Logitech mouse drivers and programs I should know?

My inventory of extra mouse and keyboards is big enough.
I really want Logitech to work this time.

I'm no expert but I use an HP x4000 wireless mouse and it works fine for me. I've been using it for a while without issues except when the battery inevitably runs out. Quite nice ergonomics if you're using it right-handed. I'm actually left handed but use the mouse on the right. Love your post by the way, funny.
