i installed windows 7 ultimate x64 and all was fine for a while. until one day a message started coming up every time my pc starts up that says "There was a problem starting winuhm32.rom. the specified module could not be found." wtf does that mean?

also my explorer.exe crashes randomly(usually when i copy or move a file). and i cant autoplay anything for some reason. can someone please tell how to fix these problems? if its useful i have the latest AVG and regularly scan my registry with Regcure.

P.S. i put the pic of the error message i get @ start up

I have only been able too find references to the winuhm32.rom as viral. I also have my suspicions because *.rom means read only memory as in an eprom. One doesn't "start" an eprom.

I may be wrong but I would run a scan with your current and even download malwarebytes and run in safemode

A virus would also explain your explorer problem

I agree with zigzag3143, sounds like you are infected with a nasty. A lot of them come with more than one part. You remove one part and the other module just downloads the first part again. Sounds like you anti-virus got part of it but not all of it. The missing part is throwing up an error

Try doing a System Restore at a point before you started getting the prompt.

I agree with everyone else.

Also, Its possible some issues were caused by RegCure deleting something it shouldn't have. Registry cleaner in general are bad in 7, and can cause many small problems.

If you have a registry backup, it may also be worth reverting to a time before this began.
