I think you are correct on that, I don't think it's the driver either.

Yes I think it is the adaptor like I described to Brian as the machine is running fast if not downloading. Ethernet connection is fine.

I think I might have found the problem I don't know for sure but I was working on that machine tonight and I kept getting very long downloads suddenly not being downloaded. I checked the wifi adaptor and it had turned off during one of these downloads so maybe it was a matter of it timing out??
It was in the main because I had a message saying that there was no network connections on a separate Google and checking the adaptor status found it off. So maybe case solved.:p

Yes I know what you mean Brian I think I have got it right now though it still is very slow I have told the owner to watch out for this happening when she gets it back. I just have to rig an email account and it is done.
