I am setting up an HD and the Windows 7 install routine seems to be going very slowly. Halts on
1% then 2% etc for what seems long periods.
The computer is old. And it has 4Gb. It may be just caving as an old rig. But can memory write
problems and such be the cause? As I recall I ran MS Memtest when doing the current set up.
Or expanding the Cores through MSI software?
It appears that after resetting the CMOS from these install difficultiesm the CPU has reverted
to three cores. I had not ever attempted these kinds of things before but it's all done
with MSI software. Is the CPU a possible source of all this slowness?
Right now I don't have a good place to start a diagnostic. Is there a routine on the Repair disk menu
or in CMD for stored commands?
Two errors I recorded to text,
windows cannot install required files. make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. error code 0x80070037
This I found in forums as being a faulty install disk.
The other is:
explorer exe application error. the instruction at 0xfe6b128a referenced memory at 0xffffffff. the memory could not be read. click on ok to terminate the program
