About laptop heating

Hi everyone. I have sony viao laptop EB34. Its running Windows 7 OS.

I have major problem with that.

1) The laptop is heating so much with noise
2) Battery to dead showing "consider replacing your battery"

Now in this case what should i do? Is there any way to overcome this heating problem ? I have just open web browser and a winamp for music its shows CPu usage 11-13% and the temp it shows is 65C :shock:

What is the reason of this heating ?

Any advice from expert ? I have computer usage about 15-16hrs everyday.

In my opinion 65c is about normal and the CPU usage would be more dependant on the running programs you have installed.
Laptops or the now official name for them - Notebooks (no longer designed to be used on your lap) run at higher temps than say Desktops
If the notebook randomly turns its self off then you have a cooling issue, if not then there is nothing to worry about.
You can preserve the life by regularly cleaning the heat and air intake vents in order to stop them from blocking with the use of a can of compressed air or alternatively take your notebook to a technician for a strip and clean.

Laptops typically do run warm. You can always try to clean out the vents with compressed air, just to make sure dust isn't building up inside. That's generally about it, though. There are cooling stands that you can use underneath your laptop, but they may or may not work, based on the design of your laptop and where it's vents are.

I just read the above advice, and ripbox is correct in the compressed air part. I'm not sure where the name commenst come from, as they are still referred to as laptops. The term notebook is synonymous with laptop, and either one is acceptable.

Can you give more information about your laptop spec or how old it is.

follow this tutorial to post your system specifications here.

Other than doing some housekeeping like they suggested, you can buy a cooling pad (the bigger the fan, the quieter it is).

Thanks everyone for you replies. I dont have more programs installed in my laptop.

and heating is ok , but heating with noise is so bad , I can't even see any video on youtube. As i open any video site or any site which has more graphics related content it starts heating with noise.


I also have COOLING pad but still i have the issue.

The noise is caused by a fan that is (desperately) trying to avoid the laptop's meltdown. If it stops heating up the fan noise will be more sedate.

Please fill the system specs following the tutorial I linked above, so we can provide more help. It's fully automated, just run a program and post the data here.
