It worked fine with IE 10, but no longer now, even after uninstalling IE 11. It does nothing when clicked.

A google search showed how to enable/disable it, but not what to do when it stops working, (yes, it IS still checked in Internet Options). Don't know why anyone would want to disable it. I use it all the time.

I tried doing a full IE reset, wiping out all my settings, but to no avail. Reinstalled IE 11 with the same results.

I did see something a few days ago about correcting it somewhere in the registry, changing DWORD 0 to 1, or maybe the reverse, but now I can't find the post. Guess I should have bookmarked it.

Thanks in advance for any help. You guys seem to be the REAL Windows experts.

Well; the biggest problem with ie 11 is that it has plenty of bugs in it; and with that being said; I would go to the windows update page and click on installed updates and uninstall ie 11 which should hopefully make it revery back to ie 10. There are too many bugs to mention with ie 11 because ie 11 was really designed for windows 8 and 8.1 but not windows 7. I had similar issues when my system updated automatically to ie 11. I then uninstalled ie 11 and reverted back to 10 and everything seems fine now; so chances are its ie 11 thats the problem.

You mention google is it part of google toolbar some how ?

I wasn't sure what to call it at first, but after doing some searches on google, everyone refers to it as the 'accelerator button.' It's the 'arrow in a box' that appears when you highlight a word or phase, and when you click it, a drop down menu of choices appears of search engines such as google, bing, etc. It saves having to copy/paste it into your address bar.

Btw, why does anyone want a toolbar taking up valuable screen real estate when your browser's address bar already acts as one? As it is, I always use Full Screen mode, (and the accelerator button so I don't have to copy/paste). Seems every time I go to download something they want to install a toolbar.

Yeah, as I said, I tried uninstalling IE 11 and now it no longer works in IE 10, even after doing a reset. I saw the same problem on Microsoft's community forum and nobody there has an answer.

Okay thanks for the update,
Took a couple of screen shots one with all three default accelerators enabled which are usually disabled because I don't care for them,
View attachment 298572
And this one with the three disabled,
View attachment 298573
Anything that effects the accelerators I would guess would be two possibilities,
One would be active x filtering or the other being Enhanced Protection Mode,
The first would be at Gear symbol/ Safety see if active x filtering or anything else is checked,
active%20x-comp-view.jpg

The other would be at Gear symbol/ Internet options/ Advanced see if epm is activated,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/280434-internet-explorer-10-enable-32-bit-64-bit-ie10-windows-7-a.html
Go to Manage add-ons and show all add-ons and take a couple of screen shots,
Repeat for the accelerators section,
Shockwave-disable.JPG

Cheers.
