Access other computer denied

Ok, I had a 3 computer network all running Xp - simple to setup and never any problems. Changed computer 1 & 2 over to Windows 7 Pro and setup workgroup. Have tried everything I could find and so far nothing works. Probably some little ole setting I have missed. Here's what I have:

Computer 1=W7 workgroup, Computer 2= W7 workgroup, Computer 3= Xp Workgroup

1, 2, 3 & printer wired to router

1, 2 & 3 can access the printer

All 3 computers appear in "Network" on all 3 machines

1 & 2 can access 3's hard drives

1 & 2 cannot access each other "You do not have permission to access_"

3 cannot accesss 1 & 2 "You do not have permission to access_"

Profiles for 1 & 2: file & print sharing ON, sharing so anyone can read and write ON, media streaming OFF, password OFF, allow windows tgo manage connections

I have taken ownership and set sharing on all the hard drives and files on 1 & 2

Permissions on 1 & 2 set to full for all

Turning off firewall on 1 & 2 did not help.

Can access a "Users" folder on all 3 but I need access to all hard drives and files. Currently can only access the xp hard drives and files.

I'm missng something, just don't know what!

Pretty much what I have found all over the net. No one knows or has solutions to many of Windows 7's major issues with networks. I suspect it is in the security quagmire of Windows 7. Sure is making the move back to XP more enticing. Dropped vista like a bad dream and may have to do the same thing with Win7.

Thanks Ski but have already been thru that and everything else I can find on the net. Looking for new ideas but apparently this is an issue that has different causes for different computers.

I don't know a lot about such things but I have a idea. Do all the computers in the work group have different names? Have you tried home group and see if that would work for you?

Each computer has a different name and all in Workgroup.
The only change using home was not being able to access the xp machine.

Resolved! Just needed to go to each hard drive's properties on both Win7 machines, security tab,advanced button, change permissions button, add button, type "Everyone" and select the desired permissions level. I knew it would be some simple something that I had missed.
