Hi, I have an extra wireless router and I want to set it up in my room and connect my PC to it using wire. But I am not sure if I should be setting up an access point or repeater or it doesn't matter. Please let me know, thank you.

Hmm, I would use it as an AP. You need to configure this router as such:
- change LAN IP to one from your main router, say if main router is 192.168.0.1, change this one to 0.2
- disable DHCP
- configure the wireless with the same SSID/pass-phrase of main router (if it has wireless)
- connect a LAN port of main router to a LAN port of this one

Then connect your PC to another LAN port of the router with ethernet. If you have wireless devices they should auto-change to the best reception automatically. Windows and iPhone (to my knowledge) should auto-change, Android may need an app to accomplish this.
