Guys, three days ago I was using an Acer Aspire 1410 notebook until I mistakenly pressed the disable trackpad key on the keyboard for the one which turns off the display. I have hit on that key previously various times, but for the first time it permanently disabled the trackpad on the little pc. (Of course, I tried enabling it again)

I restarted the PC, and bam! The trackpad disappeared from the Device Manager page! I just don't know what to do. I don't want to disassemble the pc.

Any ideas? Thanks

Go back to acer's website and try downloading and reinstalling the driver for it before you freak completely out. Also make sure the toggle is in the "on" position as what disabling it using that button does, is completely cut power to the device.

Which would explain why it's not showing in the device manager.

Unfortunately the button is a combination of Fn + F7. I've tried like crazy clicking on it. Note, F7 does work, so do Fn button.

On the other hand, I've already tried out installing the drivers again. Is there a way to remove any trace of it, so I can do a "clean install of the driver"?

have you done a complete power cycle yet?
This would include unplugging the unit and removing the battery from it for a good 5 minutes.
