Solved Acer aspire 5612zwlmi and Windows 7

Hello,
my other half has an Acer aspire 5612zwlmi, running Windows vista home premium. Can it be upgraded to run windows 7 ultimate x64, or will I have to stick to 32 bit.?

You'd have to do a clean install, with the proper media and Key.
Unless the machine has at least 4GB RAM there is no point, as it's likely to be slower running x64 than x86.

Most consumers don't need the few extra expensive features in Ultimate, which is otherwise the same exact OS. So no point in spending the extra money to try to buy Ultimate unless you know for sure you need one or more of it's extra features: Compare Windows 7 Editions - Windows 7 Forums
