Acer eRecovery Management

Are you unable to boot Win7 as a result of removing the Recovery Partition, or is something else the apparent cause?

Let's try to repair your Win7: burn a Repair CD, boot it to accept any offered Repair. If it fails to start, boot back in to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times until it starts.

If it fails to start then, boot into Command Line to use Diskpart to mark the Win7 partition Active, then try the 3 Startup Repairs again. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/71432-partition-mark-active.html

If you are concerned about how Acer will receive your hardware replacement RMA with the Recovery partition removed, I would call and ask them directly. If they say it is a problem, ask them to send your the Recovery Disks to prepare it for shipping to them. This is done by Acer for free within first 90 days, afterwards only for shipping cost.

If anyone else simply uninstalls the erecovery software with the recovery partition intact, there is an OEM Preload folder in the C:/ drive that holds all the pre loaded software, including the erecovery software.
