Wireless Driver Installation Problem!
I just bought a brand new Acer Aspire 5552-7668 and when I installed the pre-loaded Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, my wireless card was functioning and was connected to my router and was working perfectly. I then installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit and drivers such as the graphics card driver installed fine and turned out to work but when I try to install the driver for the wireless card a message pops up saying something like, "unable to detect, please insert network card" something like that. Anyway, just to let u know that the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit I installed has nothing wrong with it because last year I had the same exact model laptop except it has a triple core processor instead of the quad core processor which is located in my new laptop (5552-7668), and all drivers installed just fine. My IT-technician cousin installed the drivers for me through the device manager and this time I just ran the setup.exe files. I don't think there is a difference which way you do it, because my graphics card driver is functioning the way it should and I installed it by simply running the setup file and not through the device manager. My Windows 7 install disc is a downloaded image file which I burned to a DVD-R which contains every version of Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit) but there is nothing wrong with the disc at all because as I said it worked flawlessly on my old laptop, the one with the triple core processor, I contacted Acer tech support by phone and by live chat and on the phone they told me I have to pay 140$ for a 1 year anytime tech support help service which I don't want! Anyway, I would really appreciate anyone who can help me solve this issue as it is really stressing me out to the fullest, and just to let u know I did open the plate which covers the ram, hard drive and wireless card but I did not touch the wireless card, the 2 tiny cables are perfectly attached to the pins on the card and it was working fine with the pre-loaded Home Premium which nobody wants...
I don't understand why laptops have to always be defective in some sort of way and also, just to let u all know my old triple core processor laptop had a common problem with the optical drive (cd/dvd rom) where when I place any disc into it..it simply does not do anything to read it until I would double-click the "my computer" icon. So the reason why I am sayin this is because when I would go to the bios and boot from the optical drive to install a different version of Windows, it wouldn't boot and would simply just continue to restart like normal and load Home Premium login screen..but luckily with a few more tries me and my IT cousin got it to work one time and thats the way I got Ultimate 64 Bit installed successfully on the triple core processor machine. This new laptop I got (quad core), optical drive read discs jsut fine..but for some odd reason it had the boot problem like the old one had..so the way I installed the Windows 7 Ultimate was by having the computer running like normal and then going to "my computer" double clicking the optical drive icon and installing it that way which worked just fine as I am currently using the Ultimate version on my new machine its just that the driver for the wireless card does not want to install!
This is such a good laptop that it was pretty much sold out at all of the Visions Electronics stores located within my province...I had to drive with my mom to a nearby different city to tha branch there to obtain it...I just want my internet to work wirelessly and installing the LAN driver is so tough because there are way to many setup files in different folders I do not know which 1 to install and I tried one and plugged it into my router via ethernet cable and it did not detect any connection, the network icon in the notification area didn't change at all it had the red X over it...I don't understand why Acer recommends not to change the default OS when you should be able to upgrade ur machine to whatever u want because u paid for it and it should work fine because its in the stores..I hope im not the only one with this issue I am tired of typing now so I am going to stop with this post because there has been enough said about Acer and their crap..I thought Acer laptops were a reliable company because the drivers are so easy to download and almost everyone in my extended family has an Acer laptop and theirs works fine because they use the lousy pre installed home premium with the piece of crap green acer login screen I am thinking now maybe I shouldve just stuck with the home premium because 64 bit is what i need and that is what it was I dont care what Ultimate offers really I just want it because its simply the best Windows 7 there is we all know that, it costs the most...

Anyway any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated! this is why i hate laptops..they always got a defect within them somehow some way somewhere!!!!!!!!!!! its the manufacturers fault for screwing up the hardware installation and when u ask for help in person they act like ur the one who destroyed it because they have no experience with these kind of problems no matter how many times u try to explain that it happens to all laptops I seen a quad core HP laptop with teh same optical drive problem my old Aspire (triple core processor) had ..so that pretty much sums it up. Damnit this is pointless.
