Hi,

I have Windows 7 installed on a RAID 10 system, which I consider a bit risky (even though it is RAID 10, the motherboard isn't reliable; for example, if I disconnect a drive, and reconnect it, I fear - maybe falsely - that I would loose all data). Anyway, I want to reinstall fresh Windows on a single hard disk.

I had got my Windows activated by phone, since I had upgraded the motherboard (it was a retail version). What I want to know is whether the installation ID produced by a new installation would be the same as that of the previously activated installation, that is, can I use the old code I received from Microsoft, through phone, for activating the new installation. If not, is it acceptable if I call customer support for activation, a second time, within two weeks. Note that I haven't changed any hardware between the two installations.

You will not experience any difficulty activating by phone.

The code [activation ID] is different.

Be sure to answer "One".

I have re-activated the same machine multiple times within a few days.
