My school provides free copies of Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit for students. I installed 32 bit on my old laptop before it bit the dust, then I bought a new laptop and installed 64 bit on it.

Now I would like to install 32 bit on my home computer. Is it possible to free up the 32 bit code I already used on my dead laptop to use again on my home computer?

What do you mean by "free up the code?"

Do you mean can you reinstall and reactivate?

Yes, any retail copy besides OEM can migrate as you please, 64 bit or 32 bit, but only one install per license. A robo call may be required to deactivate the old install in MS computer.

Or are you asking if the install on your old HD can be cloned onto the desktop HDD and made to run and reactivate also? Yes to that, too.
