Activation question

I just built a new desktop computer and will be installing W7-64 in a few weeks. My new computer has 4 internal HDD's that I can switch on and off. I also have an external USB HDD. Will I run into Microsoft activation issues if I run with different combinations of these hard drives? I just read a post where a guy turned off his wireless and Windows made him re-activate.

You should have no problems whatsoever. If you do, give Microsoft a call and explain the situation.

Out of curiosity, how do you switch the internals on and off, and are they for storage or for OS installs?

I have four switches that can turn the drives on and off. I use them for different OS and backup drives.

Oh, using an actual switch. Similar to a KVM switch?

Check out these 3.5in drive bay cover w/ Dual Switch holes  for holding the rocker switches: Available in Black or Silver

I don't know what a KVM switch is, but I made my own using a drive bay cover, something similar to the link above.

Oh OK. I use an external drive for my backups and it has a small switch on the back to switch on and off.

P.S. KVM switches allow you to switch between I/O devices such as monitors, keyboards, mouses.
