Okay so I have a folder and within this folder I want to group the contents by name, but they have Greek letters. This means they all just go to the "other" category. Additionally the letters typically go A-H and so on. Is it possible to make Windows 7 recognize the Greek letters as distinct AND also categorize the files per letter?

Windows uses something called Unicode for identifying the characters on the screen. Unicode includes the alphabets of English, Greek, Russian, Spanish, and a whole lot of other languages. Run "charmap" (Character Map), and you will see a table of all of the characters.

Set the Character set to Unicode. Then, as you click on a character, you will see its Unicode representation at the bottom of the screen.

(You could also set the Character set to Windows: Greek, but I'm not sure how that would help you with your situation.)

It was already set on unicode.

Not being totally clear there on how to make it how I want. It seems to just be

I basically want it to recognize each Greek letter and sort by "A, B, C" / "α, β, γ" as opposed to "A-H". It's not really telling me exactly what I want to edit.
