You don't have to. That link to EASYBCD is what you want.
With EasyBCD you don't have to copy the Grub boot sector files to
C:\. Just follow this tutorial:Ubuntu - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki
and download Easy BCD. In fact when I set up my dual-boot I will also use EasyBCD.

There is a "clean" way of booting Ubuntu from Windows.

Install Ubuntu specifying that you want to place the boot record to the partition (there will be a warning that this method is unreliable - ignore).
During installation Grub2 creates a file name 'boot.img' in "/boot/grub" folder in any Linux with Grub2. This file has the contents of the Partition Boot Record (PBR) for the installation.

1. Create a boot-sector loader using bcdedit or this tool Visual BCD Editor - Windows 7/Vista (complete GUI version of bcdedit).
2. Copy over boot.img to a Windows folder (can be placed in "\" or "\boot" or another folder). The utility ext2fsd gives read/write access to Linux partitions from Windows. Alternatively use 'dd for Windows' to create a file with the contents of the PBR.
3. Ajust boot-sector loader drive and path to point to boot.img.
4. Rename loader entry to say "Ubuntu".

Done.
