Adding unallocated space to primary partition during install

I'm doing a fresh clean install of Windows 7. In the select partition screen, I saw there were two:

-100 MB of type "System information", or something like that.
-700 GB of type "Primary", my current partition and the one I want to install Windows 7 in.

Anyway, since I didn't know what the first partition (100 MB) was, I decided to delete it (which probably was a mistake), expecting it to automatically merge all that space with the primary partition. However, this didn't happen, and now I have a 100 MB partition called "Unallocated Space". I don't want to have 100 MB unusable and I know there must be a way of merging this space with my primary partition using DISK PART (which I can access from the Windows 7 installation wizard by pressing shift + F10), but I have no idea of which commands to use to accomplish what I'm trying to do. What a mess. Deleting something that you don't know what it is was not very swift.

This 100MB partition was your system partition and contained your bootmgr. Since you mucked it up, you can probably not boot any more.

Do you realize how little 100MB is - it is 1/1000th of 100GB, and you have 700GB. What were you trying to accomplish.

The situation can be fixed, but that is probably beyond your skill level. You better reinstall the system and leave the 100MBs alone.

Since he deleted then did the install his Windows 7 should boot okay, right? All he needs to do is merge the 100MB into his C: drive using Disk Management or via a Partition Manager like GPartED or Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition

Agreed 100MB is nothing but it is annoying since it's not being used.

If he reinstalled after mucking it up, then he might be OK. But then I would still recommend to leave the 100MBs alone.

Yes it can be merged e.g. with the bootable disc of Partition Wizard, but that is risky and also takes a long time because the 700GB partition and all it's data has to be shifted to the left. A smart person would first make an image of the C partition to cover the risk. If the OP thinks he is capapble of doing all that, then I will be glad to show him how to do it.
