Solved Address/Contacts in Outlook 2007 not working properly

Hi

I have just setup Outlook 2007 to handle my Hotmail account, it seems to be working well
except that the Address/Contacts system is not working well.

Outlook seems to have imported my contacts from Hotmail (now Outlook Mail)
but when I type in a contact name nothing is found, I have to click on "To" and a list
of Address/Contacts folders comes up, there are four, Outlook Address Book, Contacts (twice)
and Global Address List, the only one with any info in it is the second Contacts but that seems
to be a mess with a whole lot of email address with no names, then a lot of names and email addresses,
they all seem to be there but are not found when I start typing in a name when writing a new email.

I set up the second Contacts folder as the default and set search to More Columns" but the names
are still not found.

I went to my Hotmail (Outlook Mail) and exported the Contacts to CSV but that is a real mess
and I have no idea what to do with it.

I hope this makes sense and that someone can help me fix this up.

Any comments, help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again Daniel, we seem to be meeting everywhere.

Once you have converted your contacts to a csv file you have to import them into Outlook. This website should help you.

Thanks for getting back. Setting up the address book in Outlook is fiddly, so don't expect it to work straight away & you may have to have a few goes at it.

I use Outlook 2013 & it took me ages to get the address book to work properly & even now it's still fiddly as I have 2 email accounts in Outlook.
