Administrator Win 7 Starter

Hi,

I've seen threads on the problems with the administrator accounts but i've tried several of the fixes and they either dont work or are not possible.

I have windows 7 starter on a netbook. I am unable to make changes to certain files as it claims I am not an administrator. However, there is only one account listed on this computer and it shows as administrator.

I would like to change the read write privileges on certain files but it will not let me.

Is there a fix that works for windows 7 starter or is this a horrendous cock up by microsoft that means ive just wasted a shed load of money on a system thats incapable of doing what i need it to ?

Did you try to take ownership of those files ( Add Take Ownership Option Shortcut in Right Click Menu of Windows 7 ). If that does not work, the file is probably owned by the Trusted Installer. Then you need heavier guns ( Windows 7 and TrustedInstaller - Something Emporium ).
