If you choose Foxit, be careful when installing it that you uncheck the toolbars and other added junk.

Or just download the zipped version. Once unzipped just place the exe in the location of choice (can be anywhere on the computer; main drive partition, second drive/partition, etc), run it once and that's it. No installing required and it doesn't come with the toolbars or anything else.

Thanx everyone, I'll give Sumatra PDF and Foxit a try.

Glad I reminded you of that Bear....yeah it does suck they way they shove things into your PC without asking.

i recently also tried PdfXchange: Tracker Software Products :: PDF Creation Software, Free PDF Viewer

both are good.

As long as we're on the topic of Adobe, I hope everyone has the rest of any Adobe products on their computer updated, especially Air & Flash which also had critical updates.

Same sort of thing with Flash. I don't want Air or Adobe's downloader plugin in any way shape or form (the free McAfee scan thing can go too, was Norton at one point) so I just go here,

and get the latest version a day or two later that is free from all that garbage.

PDF Readers

Borg 386
I tried Nitro it seemed good. I went back to Adobe because I could not get the others to work in my IE browser. I have one secure web site I use that offers me PDF docs to read. So I prefer to read the doc in my browser. Nitro seemed really good so I think I will reload it and use both. With Adobe as the default. As for all of the bloatware from Adobe, I have got it all uninstalled. Look at Nitro.

So much for the Adobe update. Even with all the vulnerabilities addressed in the update, it wasn't completely successful, apparently due to a feature Adobe was not willing to alter. See the complete explanation at Adobe PDF Reader "Launch" vulnerability still exploitable.

On The Fence

You guys are really making it tough for me to decide about my reader. I still prefer to read some docs in my browser. I liked Nitro the best that I have tried. Decisions...Decisions.....

I have whipped the bloatware from Adobe but I am not frogiving them for going that route.
