Advanced Recovery Methods not working

Hi guys. I'm having a problem with being able to bring up the Advanced recovery methods from my Backup & Restore program. I have know idea when this started because I haven't ever used it since I've had my laptop. I went to explore it this morning and found when I click the link "Advanced recovery methods" it doesn't open. Here's a screen shot of what I'm talking about.

Anybody have any ideas why it's not opening and what I can check?

Try restarting the machine and go to advanced recovery via F8 see if that works ok.

That works fine but then arises another problem, lol. When I choose to recover from an image while using the "Repair Your Computer" options, it doesn't recognize my ext hard drive with the backup image on it.

Ok I solved the problem with Windows repair not recognizing my ext hard drive. The hard drive needed to be plugged into the usb 2.0 port instead of the 3.0 port.

I'd still like to know why when I click the "Advanced recovery methods" the link is dead. Does anybody know where the files are stored for that program?

Do yourself a favor and stop using Windows Backup. You will have continued problems like you are having. Try using
Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download I and others here use it and it is very dependable. Check it out.

Yes I'm familiar with Macrium Reflect and have it on my machine and use it. I also like Clonezilla. Clonezilla is the only free backup program that I found that was able to restore an image of my dual boot Windows XP and Ubuntu so it worked perfectly. I'm not going to worry with this problem anymore but was curious as to why it didn't work. I can still use my Windows repair disk and restore a Windows image that way if I really wanted to. Thanks guys for all your help.
