Aero Glass forms black screen?

Okay, the first time I installed Windows 7, the aero glass worked perfectly fine. After the past year or 2, I was messing around with the theme files and aero registry and somehow, aero glass doesn't work anymore. When I enable it from desktop session, the aero works, but it doesn't. The whole desktop is glitched with a black screen, yet still showing left overs of the window bars and such. It works in a way, but it is just glitched. Then I have to disable desktop session manager in safe mode. I don't know how to get this thing working again.

Actually, I did do a system restore a few weeks ago, but didn't restore it to where it was working. hmmm... Might give it a shot.

Obviously you should restore to a point in time when Aero still worked otherwise it's useless.
If that point is not available anymore, try a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
which will try to restore the messed up system files responsible.
