Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping that someone can resolve my problem I'm currently experiencing with my new built desktop pc.

Whenever I start up my pc with the power button, the aero theme is disabled. However, when I press restart the aero theme works all fine again. I tried lots of diffrent things to solve the problem, but none were successful. I noticed performance drops (games were lagging) when the aero theme was disabled. Another odd thing is that desktop window manager doesn't show up in services.msc, even after the restart.

Here are my system specs:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 (6 x 3.5 GHz)
Video card: Asus GTX 560 direct cu ii (2 GB memory)
Motherboard: Asrock 980de3/u3s3
Power supply: Corsair CX500 (500 W, modular)

I have the feeling it has something to do with my video card (I've updated to the latest drivers already).

Thanks for reading through this and I hope to receive a solution.

John

Did you find the issue? I'm having the same problem as you D:
Figured it was a bad version of Windows, but I just re-installed it, but it's not fixed. Turned on Windows Updates - still no dice. Removed RAM - NOPE!

Hi,
I actually found the issue. You have to go to the asrock site and download the oldest BIOS version (1.10). After that everything should work fine again. Keep in mind, that you have to do it at your own risk. There is a new BIOS to download, maybe they fixed the problem with this one.

Good luck!!
