Hello.

7 x64 goes in/out of Sleep Mode successfully, but Aero Peek's visual effects disable approx. 2 sec. after the system wakes. If I log out/on the effects are still disabled; I have to reboot to restablish.

Phenom 9850 x4 2.5 GHz
GeForce 9600 GS

Thank you for any help.

* I also have issue with right-clicking and Explorer crashing, however mine only occurs when I right-click on the Recycle Bin, and only after my computer has been running for awhile and I am recycling multiple files.

Did you do an upgrade or clean install? Or did Windows 7 come preinstalled on your machine?

Vista x64 was preinstalled, and I did a custom install upgrade to 7; my old files were partitioned into a Windows.old file.

I also have the same problem.
By my searching, Microsoft Tech Net says "This problem may be occurred
by hardware and/or its driver" only.

My environment is below
CPU : AMD Phenom II 940 BE
M/B : DFI
LANPARTY DK 790FXB-M2RS (AMD 790FX+SB750 Socket AM2+)
RAM : PC6400 2GBx4 Total 8GB (No errors)
VGA : nVidia Geforce 9800GTX+ 512MB (Latest Driver)
HDD : Intel
X25-M Mainstream SATA SSD x2 (G2 revision, raid 0 Onboard RAID)

I am Japanese and I found same problem at Japanese Forum.
That case was AMD 780G mainboard used.
I think this problem occur under AMD Chipset enviroment and mainboard,
but not all case.
I used ASUS M4A79 Deluxe mainboard before then now board.
It is also same chipsets board, but I have never experienced such problem.

Have anyone more infomation?

Bump! I'm having the same issue in Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Windows Aero crashes after coming out of sleep mode on my HP a6750y. Not a huge deal, but it is strange. I can open the Command Prompt as an Administrator, net stop and then net start uxsms. I get Aero back until I go to do something, anything in fact - like open an Explorer window. A simple reboot corrects the problem.

Loosely related? When using Crysis Sandbox Editor 2.0 after coming out of sleep mode, my system clock (time) reads strangely. (i.e. 12:1 instead of 12:01) Sandbox and other apps that use DirectX run a bit jerky. Perhaps my PC just doesn't handle hibernation very well?

Forgive me if posting this in two forums is a breach of etiquette, but I found this thread after I posted in the General Forum...

I have the similar problem of the OP of this thread...
When my PC wakes from "Sleep" the Aero Peek preview windows don't work. I only get a text description of each open window, but not an actual preview of the window. The issue can be temporarily corrected via Reboot, but as soon as the system sleeps again the Aero Peek preview windows are gone again.

The problem most definitely occurs only after waking from sleep, not from Windows turning off the display. If I set my system to sleep in 3 minutes and I immediately awake, the Aero Peek doesn't work. If I set my system to never sleep, the Aero Peek keeps working.

After the system is awaked from sleep, when I right click on the Start button and select Properties for the Task Bar, the Aero Peek check box is still checked but the entire selection for Aero Peek is greyed out.

When I go into the Control Panel, Performance Information and Tools, the Aero Peek selections are not even showing in the menu list to select. However those selections are available when aero peek is working and the machine has not yet gone to sleep.

When I go into the Control Panel, Personalization, and select "Trouble Shoot Problems with transparency and other Aero effects," the system never detects a problem to correct.

I have looked at my registry, and it still shows Aero Peek as being turned on even when its not working.

My machine is a desktop HP with an AMD Phenom Quad core 9550, 6GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics running Windows 7 Ultimate which was upgraded from Vista. In my attempt to resolve, I have done a full windows update and I updated the graphics driver.

My system otherwise runs perfect and stable. I am really stumped on this, so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Andy

Try below steps to troubleshoot the issue aero feature disabled after resuming sleep

1. Start, type cmd, right click, Run as Administrator.
‪2. Type bcdedit /set useplatformclock true and press enter.
‪3. Type bcdedit /enum and press enter.
‪4. Verify that useplatformclock is on/true.
‪5. Restart the computer then test aero issue.
The above worked liked a charm for me on the following platform:

System Model FQ563AA-A2L a6750f
Processor AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor, 2300 Mhz
