Aero theme doesn't work, can't find solution

Recently my aero theme stopped working, and it is rather frustrating. It has been working for the past 5-6 months, and now it suddenly stops. There is something weird, though. Whenever i start up Torchlight 2, the aero theme starts working, with transparency and all. Whenever i restart the computer or change users, it goes back to the basic theme. There is certainly no reason why my aero theme shouldn't be working. Can anyone help?

Hi hhazzard,

It appears that there is a 'software conflict' due to a program installed on the computer. Please try to perform clean boot and recheck results; a clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. You may refer to the following 'Microsoft Article': How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

If the issue persists, you may also try updating the 'display drivers'.

Try running the Aero troubleshooter

Start> In search box type Troubleshooting> Enter> Choose Appearance and Personalization> Choose Aero and follow the wizard
