Solved After "Back up your files first" then.............

Had some problems with my HP Pavillion Desktop. So I put in System Restore Disk #1. It then says "Back up your files first". I did and then copied them to four DVD's. After going thru all four of the "System Restore Disks", the computer seems to run OK, but how do I restore with the four "Back up" DVD's?

Hello Joe mate am not real sure of what it is you are trying to restore the data on the restore disks you made or what?

Because I am reading it that you already had four HP restore system disks and made four more on that request. Or have I got it wrong?

I found the answer

It took four DVD's to make the original System Restoration Disks. When I started to restore the system with Disk #1; before it began, it asked if I wanted to back up the system. This also took four more DVD's. (thus 4 system restore disks and 4 backup the system files disks). My question was "how to get the back up files" off of the disk into the system hard drive. When I inserted the back up disk in the DVD player, nothing happened. I opened the files and found a file named "Recovery Mgr. (application)". When I clicked on this file, the restore started happening, subsequently asking for disks 2,3,4. At the present time, I am trying to find some of the data files that should have been on these 4 DVD's. They are probably there, I just have not found them yet. It takes a lot of patience for the old man; but, I am pretty bull-headed too (some call it perserverence).

I found the data files hidden deeply in a "System Recovery File". I just need to get them transfered to their original position.
Case closed AGAIN. Hope this might help someone else.
