After making a clean installation of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1 to a Samsung SSD 850 PRO I booted my laptop. The system started but I could not create an internet connection. I went to Device Manager and it said the drivers for the network adapters were not found. I shut down, reinstalled the old hard drive and restarted. It connected to the Internet. I ran Device Manager and found that the following network adapters listed and working:
  1. Intel, 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection
  2. Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250N AGN
  3. Intel Centrino WiMAX 6250
  4. Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
  5. Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2
I went to the Windows/System32 folder and to the Windows/System32/Drivers folder, on the old hard drive and found the drivers that were running the adapters. I copied them to a USB FD. Then I shut down, removed the old hard drive and install the new SSD. I rebooted the system, inserted the USB FD containing the drivers and copied them into Windows/System32/<Drivers> on the new SSD. Then I rebooted the system.
This did not solve the problem. What should I do?

I can not log onto the Internet with the SSD installed in my laptop without installing the drivers for its network adapter. I can log onto the Internet from a different computer and download to a USB FD. I know the names of the network adapters that need drivers what should I do, Google? Where are the inf files?

If you can connect the old drive using a USB external enclosure, you can have the driver update search the System32 folder on the old drive for the driver.
Otherwise, go to the Dell site and download the appropriate drivers.

go to the Dell site and download the appropriate drivers.

Reinstalled old hard drive, went to Dell Support Forum and ran system diagnostics - everything is working and all the drivers are up to date. :)

When I connect the old hard drive to my laptop with USB/SATA adapter I can not connect to the Internet. However if I installed the old hard drive inside the laptop and connected the SSD to the laptop with the USB/SATA adapter I can log onto the Dell website and download the drivers to the SSD.

Thank you for mentioning Dell website. I will try the download and install tomorrow and if the drivers install I am going to run Dell's System Diagnostics.
