Have spent better part of two days trying to restore my macrium backup image to a new hdd

I am using Macrium 6 and after much difficulty I finally was able to access the saved macrium image backup file and start the restore process which took several hours.

Upon restarting my PC i got a "bootmgr missing error.

Can anyone help me solve this frustrating problem??

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Do you have an install DVD to boot from to do a repair. On some clones you have to tick to copy boot sector you may not have copied it hence it won't boot

You can image any partition you want.
But if you want just an image to restore your operating system then select " Create an image of the partitions required to backup and restore Windows". The restore using the rescue boot disc should give you a bootable system.

I haven't had this boot problem with Macrium but they do have an option "Fix Windows boot problems". This attempts to fix some of the intermediate boot stages.
