Age of Empires 3: Completed Collection (Steam) Parental Controls Issue

Greetings,

I have purchased AOE 3: Complete Collection via Steam when it was on sale a day ago. However, upon trying to launch it an error message is displayed "You do not have permissions to run the game. Check the Parental Control Settings in the Windows Game Explorer." I have only one account on my laptop and it has administrator privileges. I have tried all the game and the two expansions but none of them work. Furthermore, I tried launching them from the folders altering the compatibility settings for executables in the meantime and enabling disabling the Parental Controls service from the services.msc utility. My issue is still unresolved and I would like to get help on the possible causes and fixes of this.

Have you tried disabling the parental control through windows rather than doing it when you go to lunch the game?


1. Go to the Control Panel from the Windows Start menu.
2. Click User Accounts.
3. Click Parental Controls.
4. Click on your account photo.
5. Choose Parental control off

Thanks for your reply but the issue is much more complex than that the parental controls do not work properly as I have tested on my friends' computers and my account is of the type administrator. Furthermore, the issue pertains to the built-in administrator account also. My account is the only user on the computer except the built-in administrator.

I have actually tried that and making a new standard account to be able to set parental controls but none of these worked. Furthermore, when I logged into the built-in administrator the problem was still there. I also ran a SFC check which returned no integrity violations. I think the best solution is a Windows reinstall when I have the time to do so. Do you have any other suggestions?

I would say the option before a reinstall is to call windows they are your best hope now mate if they cant even help with it then a reinstall is best sry that I could not help man.

How can I call Windows I have never done so before? Also I have posted in Microsoft discussion threads but no one was able to help.That is okay, I really appreciate your effort.
