Hey!
I have, on my older pc with Windows XP, a well working Agfa Focus Color Plus flatbed scanner that I want to use now on my new pc with Windows 7.
As far as I do understand software for these scanners and things, this one is a so-called SCSI-scanner, connected to my WinXP pc via a SCSI-cable and a SCSI-card?.
My question: is it possible to use my scanner on my newer pc with Win7 via a 'SCSI to USB'-cable and of course after installing new software Adaptec, the sanerdriver and possibly something else?
Who can inform me what I shoud do to really end in my scanner being well working on my new pc with Win7...

Do I need to install any Adaptec card or so in the new situation with Windows 7?

Hi there .. You could use either the choice is yours 'SCSI to USB'-cable or the Card .. I have never used any of them on Windows 7 myself .. Did use the 'SCSI to USB'-cable on an Xp machine in the past and that worked very well ..

Fine, Maxie!
I will go and try to have a SCSI to USB cable tomorrw, and do some tests tomorrow...
By the way, am I right when I understand that a so-called SCSI-card replases a USB-connexion, or visa versa? Soes a SCSI-card just establish thhe connection betweeh the scanner and the PC, or does it do moer that just connect?

Cable would probably be the easiest way for you .. The Card provides a port that plugs in to a pci slot on your motherboard .. Have a read at the Link below ...

Adaptec - Adaptec SCSI Card 29160

Excellent Maxie!
I understand right now...
I wil let you know how it works when I found the cable and the driver. But sure, this is the way I'm going to do some tests.
Thank you!
