All my desktop data gone after lots of bleeping, please help me get it

Hello everyone, several months ago my laptop started making bleeping noises as I booted it up. sometimes it would even boot up very slowly. After a couple of weeks of this bleeping, a found that all my data on the desktop was gone after I logged into my user account. and the background picture was changed too. is there any way I can get ti back? I tried doing a system restore for the user account but no luck. maybe I should try it for the whole computer? I just dont want to mess anything up, please help! I had so much valuable information that I need!

Sounds like a hard disk failure. Do you have a recent backup?

Are you logged in with normal profile or a temp one look at the profile folders see if your old one is there with your docs

Is the problem on a laptop or on a desktop?

Do you have any Win 7 0r Win 10 installation disk that you can boot from?

I have an Hp pavillion dv6 laptop(stock). I have no back ups (I never made one myself at least) nor do I have a windows 7 or 10 CD. I cant remember if it was a temporary user or my actual user account when i logged in, but I made another user account so I can transfer all the data from my old account to the new one. Most of the data was there except the desktop data that I was missing so it was pointless. would a system restore work? there HAS to be a way to get this data back. or do yall thing its gone forever?!

There is a way, be in the target account (has to be admin level), copy stuff from the source account; I hope my phrasing made sense. I have done that when I wanted my built-in admin acct to have the same desktop icons and folders that my normal acct has. I'm confused about the need for a system restore, maybe I missed something in previous posts?

someone else saw my speecy link and said my hardrive is failing. i don't think there is too much time left for me to figure this out.. if I dont get instructions soon, im just going to try the minitool data recovery program. also should i keep my laptop from updating? it wants to update but im afraid that might make things harder.

What kind of data did you have on your desktop? Did you have documents or other files, or just shortcuts to programs?

i had a few important documents and some GIF's. I've already checked the other user folders and nowhere to be found. any suggestions?

sorry, life hasnt been the easiest lately. its even been a struggle to find the energy to try and solve this issue. either way, its all gonna be over soon, either im getting my data back or not. but I found the last bit of determination in me. thank you all so much for you time to respond, it means a lot to me, thank you.

so i decided to buy a new external hard drive because i have nowhere to put the data on the one I already had. I barely was able to buy one now because it has been raining like crazy the past few days and I only have a motorcycle, not a car, so I had to wait the rain out. anyhow im trying make a raw copy using the HDD raw copy tool 1.10 and it keeps giving me this error message. "NOTE: this tool will NOT copy your boot(OS system). the tool requires absolute exclusive access to the source media. if you want to copy/image your boot hard drive, then you would have to attach it temporarily to another PC and perform the Task on that PC". what do I do? link to tool download is HDDGURU: HDD Raw Copy Tool

I managed to download clonezilla but there were error messages as it booted up. also, here are some of the screen I encountered, something is wrong for sure, I cant even select my partitions. sorry, I dont know why the pictures keep uploading upside down, I tried rotating them but they still upload the same. would it be easier if i tried the system rescue program?

I think im almost there! tell me if this screen looks good to you guys. I only have one concern, when powering off my laptop the screen was red for little bit and it said something like " failed to unmount". is that a concern? other than that, check out this screen. please anybody there?
