All programs open with Windows Media Center

I think a virus may have gotten through but all of a sudden every icon on my desktop changed to the green Media Center icon and all programs now open in media center, problem is I cannot do a system restore or run a virus scan because they all open with MC. I have Win7 Ultimate IE8. I can go to Control Panel and a few system programs but I am at a loss as to what virus caused this or how to repair it. Any ideas...

Go to control panel > Default Programs > then choose "associate a file type witha program", then you can change whatever program you want to run to do the restore.
