All users have full control but no access

hello, I have my Cdrive set to be shared, and "everyone" is the only choice. they have full control. I cannot get into the drive from another pc in the house. Why is this happening if I have permissions?

For full access to network drive's you often times have to add the "Everyone" permission to the Security tab as well as the Sharing tab which I believe you were referring to.

For network access you have to contend with both the share permissions and the NTFS permissions of the folder that is being shared. The effective permissions will be whichever one is the most restrictive. If the NTFS permissions grant only read only access that is what you get, even if the share permissions are full control to everybody.

Not trying to be rude, but that explanation doesn't seem like an explanation you would give to someone who obviously doesn't know much about sharing. That was total gibberish, thanks anyway

This is how I have it. I have my entire Cdrive shared for everyone like you said, in the security tab as well. Same thing, no acccss. Someone was mentioning NTFS, I never mentioned that, so not sure why anyone would think I am versed enough to understand that, but any help (noob friendly) would be appreciated.

What I mentioned was sharing out the C:>Users folder not the C: drive.

You need to make sure that C: Users is shared out through both the Sharing Tab and the Security Tab.

You might also check the Advanced Sharing Settings in the Network and Sharing Center.

Make sure that Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing etc. are enabled on all machines.
